The Faith Window
The Faith Window shows in its center lancet Abraham whose faith was so great that because Jehovah commanded, he prepared to sacrifice his son, his only son, Isaac, upon an altar of faggots. In the design one sees, with attention, tiny figures: Isaac bound on the altar, an angel just stopping the blow of the upraised knife, and, caught in a thicket, the ram provided by Jehovah for the sacrifice after the test of faith had succeeded.
At the left is St. Peter, as always dressed in green and gold, and with the keys of the kingdom. He it was, who, in a display of faith, said to Jesus in answer to the question “Whom say ye that I am?”, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.” (Matt. 16:16)
To the right is Eunice, mother of St. Timothy, in whom, it is said, there dwelt unfeigned faith. (2 Tim. 1:15)
The memorial inscription is the one name, “Thurston”.
