Environmental Stewardship Fund

In a recent round of board meetings, the church leadership created the Environmental Stewardship Fund. Our thanks to Alan J. Lewis who provided the initial gift and inspiration. The purpose of this fund is provided resources for immediate improvements to our facilities which reduce the fossil fuel consumption of the church. Resources from the fund can also be used to support long range planning and major capital improvements, provided that such planning and projects have as part of their goal energy efficiency and the reduction of fossil fuel dependence by the church. As Christians, we should not be indifferent to the created world around us, nor should our love of neighbor be reserved for the present generation. This fund will support efforts to be better stewards of the Earth, knowing that God intends creation not just for us, but for our children and grandchildren as well. If you are interested in learning more about this fund or being a part of the work, we would love to hear from you. To support these efforts, our next Tuesday Night Together unit will be focused on Biblical/theological foundations for our stewardship of creation.
