Commissioning Sunday | June 19

This Sunday we will be commissioning our ASSIST JC'ers for their upcoming week of mission work and community betterment projects in Eastport! They will also be joined by a small team of people from the East Orrington Congregational Church Youth Group with their fearless leader, Doug Fogg!

A commissioning is a formal recognition and affirmation of a call from God to serve in a particular capacity for a short time or a life time. Throughout history God has called people to serve in a myriad of ways. To Isaiah God said, “Whom shall I send.” Isaiah responded, “Here I am, send me.

These individuals, youth and adult members of ASSIST JC, have discerned God’s call upon their lives to journey into the local community as one. And we are hoping that some others hear that call next year. They will be working alongside one another, serving the communities of Eastport and Pleasant Point, and sharing with them the love of Christ.
