New Choir Anthem

One of our choir members, Peter Verlee, has created a choir anthem of praise, in collaboration with Jim Haddix and me. Peter came up with the tune and the refrain, which are upbeat and contemporary in style. Dr. Haddix wrote the words of 4 verses, in a couple of hours one afternoon. I added the harmony and piano accompaniment, and I put it into notation for the choir. This is Peter’s first attempt at an anthem, although he has written responses and amens for the choir. The choir is currently rehearsing it, with plans to present it in church in April or May.
